Writing from an early age, Simon has developed numerous plays, musicals, radio dramas and pantomimes.

His recent plays include the translation and adaptation of La Ronde; a contemporary drama Ghosts In The Attic; a tense drama in Fractures and a gender reversed adaptation of The Tempest.  He is currently developing several new plays including two historical plays and two contemporary dramas.

Musical Theatre writing includes My Fifteen Minutes The Musical, The Rhapsody and the Rhythm and new musicals in development.

Polly Banwell in the West-End production of When The Lilac Blooms My Love by Jane Huxley

Simon works as a freelance Producer, Director and Writer in the theatre industry. He has previously been the Artistic Director of The Ant Theatre Company and Words and Picture Productions. He has worked at the Donmar Warehouse Theatre (under Sam Mendes’ Artistic Direction) and he was Founder and Executive Producer of The Cock Tavern Theatre in Kilburn (bringing Adam Spreadbury-Maher onto the team as the venue’s co-founder and Artistic Director). He has also been Chair of Trustees of the Stone Crabs Theatre Company.

Throughout his work at The Cock Tavern Theatre he supported the early careers of many young professionals on a variety of productions, either as executive producer, consultant producer director or designer (sound, lights, stage).  Companies and individuals supported include: Snapshots (Round Pebble Theatre Company), Together We’re Heavy (Canuk Theatre Company), Invisible Storms (Sound Dust devised play by Jamie Harper and Dan Muirden), Brooklyn and The Back Room (both Good Night

Out Presents Theatre Company productions) and several more.

Plays and musicals he has written, produced or directed, many of which gathering Critic’s Choice acknowlegement, include: My Fifteen Minutes The Musical, BodyClock, The Ides Of March, Me and My Girl, The Tempest, La Ronde, Ghosts In The Attic, Studies For A Portrait, Toy Boy, Living With, Confusions, Absent Friends and many more at venues such as Leicester Square Theatre, The Oval House Theatre, Wimbledon Theatre, White Bear Theatre, Greenwich Playhouse, Brockley Jack Theatre and others.  

His own plays are now published and production copies of the original scripts are held in the British Library of Modern Manuscripts and he runs workshops on playwriting, directing, producing and acting.
