Whether you’re working on a Demo, or your next Single, EP or Album, I’ll work with you from start to finish to bring your project to life. I specialise in producing music recordings for Independent and Signed solo Artists in singer-songwriter, jazz, country and contemporary pop genres, and for songwriters needing demos for pitching to artists, publishers and labels. Songs for commercial release can be mixed and mastered to radio-ready and digital release standards.
Sounds great, how do I get started?
Get in touch and tell me what you want to create and let’s start from there. We can chat about how you want the project to sound, collaborating every step of the way. If you have a rough recording of your music send it over together with your lyrics and chord sheet for each song.
What happens next?
Producing services vary from project to project but could include a combination of any of the following:
We’ll agree dates and book in the recording session. We’ll also agree the fee and you’ll receive an invoice to pay the deposit, with the remainder due on the date of the recording session. You’ll get a full day of recording time (which can be split over two half-day sessions).
Studio equipment includes: vocal/instrument microphones AKG C214, D5 & C1000, Behringer T47, Rode NT1; Focusrite Scarlett interfaces; Samplitude ProX3 Suite DAW software for audio tracks (PC); Roland keyboard; and acoustic, electric and classical guitars. Virtual Instruments and plug-ins used include Addictive Keys, East West Sounds, Native Instruments, Independence Library, iZotope, Melodyne and others.
If you have a specific microphone, guitar or keyboard that you prefer to use, you are welcome to bring that and it can be set up for the recording session.
What do I receive once the project is completed?
For each individual song in the project (single song, EP or album), you’ll receive three ‘cuts’ of the song: a complete track fully mixed, a vocal-only track and an instrumental-only track. Each completed song within a project will be delivered in .wav and .mp3 formats usually via WeTransfer or similar online transfer system.
Each project is produced on a ‘work for hire’ basis and on completion of the project with payment made in full, you will own the masters and the mechanical rights to your songs.
Production Fees per song?
Reduced rates are available for multiple song, EP and Album recordings.
